Orangeville Baptist Church 1852 - 1910 December 4th 1852 At a meeting held, pursuant to appointment at the Schoolhouse near Mrs. Browns in Orangeville on Saturday December 4th 1852, to consider the prospect of the Baptist denomination in this vicinity, Elder Samuel Lamb presiding, and J. H. Calkins being chosen clerk. After an expression of the views of those present it was unanimously resolve that as members of the Baptist denomination we feel that the time has come, in the Providence of God, when we are called upon to maintain a Gospel Church in this place. That we invite a counsel of Brethren from Baptist Churches to deliberate with us and organize a Baptist Church in Gospel Order to meet at this place on Wednesday December 29th 1852.
